When searching for a new home, or a new town to move to, one of the most important things families consider is what activities are available for their family. While it’s important to love your home, it’s just as important to love your town and the opportunities available. The One Group Utah compiled this list of just some of the fun things to do on a family day out in Heber or Midway, Utah. Be sure to let us know if you try any of these activities!

Heber Valley Artisan Cheese
Kohler Creamer at Heber Valley Artisan Cheese offers visitors the chance to experience the difference of the farmer’s touch through an immersive adventure. They offer diverse experiences for all ages, including tours, tastings and classes, and fun outdoor activities. Dairy farm tours are also available.

Wasatch Aquatic Center
Local swim center with a competition pool, activity pool, therapy pool, and kids water-play area. They offer lap swim, open swim, and various aquatic programs. Open Monday through Saturday.

Memorial Hill
Memorial Hill features a memorial to Heber Valley residents who fought in various wars. Memorials include those from very early wars to current wars. In addition to paying their respects to fallen soldiers, visitors frequent the area to take in the great views from the top.

Midway Ice Castles
An award-winning frozen attraction, Midway is one of four locations across North America featuring these breathtaking ice castles built using hundreds of thousands of icicles hand-placed by professional ice artists. The Ice Castles season is weather dependent and they typically open in late December or early January and remain open through late February or early March. Tickets do sell out so make sure to get yours early!

Concerts at Main Street Park
Held each Thursday night during the Heber Valley Farmer’s Market at Main Street Park. Concerts run from 6:30-8:30 pm and typically start in mid-June, running through the end of August.

Swiss Days Festival Midway
A two-day festival that attracts roughly 100,000 attendees yearly (it’s Utah’s second-largest festival) and celebrates the Swiss Pioneers who came to Midway and the Heber Valley and were stunned to find it so similar to their Homeland. The festival is held over Labor Day Weekend.

Homestead Resort
Homestead Resort offers unique experiences and the chance to enjoy fresh mountain air without even having to leave the resort! Winter activities include the Midway Ice Castles, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tubing, Nordic skiing, fly fishing and so much more. The resort is also only 20 minutes from Park City ski resorts. Summer activities are endless and include an 18-hole championship golf course, Friday Night campfires, Saturday evening concerts, and indoor/outdoor swimming pools to name a few. Don’t miss the Homestead Crater, available year-round.

Heber Valley Railroad
The Heber Valley Railroad is a heritage railroad based in Heber City, UT, and operates passenger excursion trains between Heber City and Vivian Park. The railroad carries over 110,000 passengers a year and the railroad line is approximately 16 miles long.
